ENGAGED…..Faye & Hugh’s London Wedding

By julietlemon April 30 2011 - 12.30 PM

The city of London is vibrant filled with loads of brilliant places to take photographs and Faye and Hugh’s London wedding was certainly a memorable one, fill with lots of fun, excitement, a boat race, tourists, riot police, protesters and road closures!

Here are a few favourites from the day……..enjoy!

Faye and the rest of her bridal party got ready in the morning in Barnes, which also happened to be the same day of the Boat Race.  The bridal party had lovely morning with lots of giggles, a few glasses of champagne and some sushi.  Despite the large crowds of boat race spectators, the bridal party didn’t encounter much disruption apart from a slight delay with the taxis.

The wedding was at St Etheldreda’s Church in Holborn and from there the wedding party went on a sightseeing tour of the city on a London Bus.  We stopped off at St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge along the way where we got loads of great photographs and the happy couple loved being congratulated by the tourists.

Not only was their wedding on the day of the Boat Race, but it also coincided with the London Protests and with the reception being at the stunning Haymarket Hotel which is just round the corner from Trafalgar Square, we were enviably due to run into a few disruptions.  The protests was expected to attract somewhere in the region on 300,000 protesters so many of the roads had been closed off.   The bus got us as close to the Haymarket Hotel as possible and the wedding party had to walk the last 2 miles through the West End.  It was a rather hectic journey, weaving our way through the busy streets filled with tourists, protesters and lots of police, trying not to loose any of the wedding party in the process.

The police were brilliant and helped us navigate our way to our destination, they radioed ahead and let us through some of the closed roads.  A bunch of them even joined in on a photo with Faye & Hugh!

When we finally reached the Haymarket Hotel, everyone was able to relax and chat through the excitement of the surreal events after the ceremony – definitely something they won’t be forgetting in a hurry!
