MARRIED….. Clare & Luke’s Pembroke Lodge Wedding – Richmond Wedding Photographer

By julietlemon September 21 2017 - 09.58 AM
I’m delighted to be sharing the super- lovely Clare and Luke’s beautiful wedding day with you all.

The wedding photography started in the morning at the Richmond Hill Hotel where Clare and her girls were getting ready.  The champagne was flowing, the tunes were playing and everyone was very excited.  I’ve known Clare and most of her bridesmaids for years so it was incredibly special looking at  their familiar faces through my viewfinder!

Seeing and capturing Clare transform into a stunning bride was such an honour.  She was so happy and radiant and loving every second.

A beautiful vintage car drove her to the church in Wimbledon where her husband-to-be was eagerly waiting.  Before Clare arrived I caught up with Luke and was able to get some super shots of him with his groomsmen, who, suited and booted, looked incredibly dapper.

The Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon was such a wonderful setting for their marriage ceremony and the vicar delivered a lovely and rather funny service.  Inside, the high ceilings and big stained-glass windows enabled so much natural light to flood in which of course made me one very happy wedding photographer. From the outside the church was a perfect backdrop as the newlyweds, their family and guests flocked out.  Of course the clear blue sky and glorious sunshine helped loads too!

The couple were  waved off as they departed in their vintage car and whilst the guests boarded the bus, I zoomed off to the wedding venue, Pembroke Lodge, to meet up with the newlyweds for some couple alone- time photos before the bus arrived.

Pembroke Lodge is a beautiful Georgian mansion in the heart of Richmond Park and I absolutely LOVE photographing weddings there!  It has eleven acres of wonderfully landscaped grounds with many outstanding photographic opportunities of which we took full advantage.

The gorgeously manicured grounds looked incredible and it was pure magic with all the flowers in bloom.

Having done a pre-wedding shoot with Clare and Luke a few weeks earlier they were very comfortable in front of the camera on their wedding day.  This meant that I was able to leave them to enjoy each other’s company and take lots of really natural photos of the newlyweds together.  I do have to say an extra big THANK YOU to Luke’s best man and son Hayden who was an absolute legend on the day!  Hayden served as my perfect photography wingman helping me with my camera gear, being super- speedy with some creative veils shots and keeping the couple in check!

Soon the happy couple were with their guests enjoying the reception drinks on the terrace by The Belvedere suite.   Fun, laughter, lots of chatting and  views of the Thames Valley to the West as the stunning back drop created the perfect celebratory ambiance.

After the wedding breakfast came the speeches which were all superb. However,  it was Luke’s grandfather in fine form, who had travelled all the way from Australia, who totally stole the show!  He donned a bush hat with corks dangling from the brim, and this did not hold him back for one second from having everyone in absolute hysterics!

After pudding and coffee had been served everyone flocked outside onto the terrace to enjoy the lovely temperatures of the balmy summer’s evening.  The drinking, fun and laughter continued and soon it was time to hit the dance floor.

The Band called ReCover did a super-job of playing brilliant tunes ensuring the dance floor was filled throughout the night.  Of course I stayed and partied right until the end! x

A big SHOUT OUT to the wonderful wedding suppliers who made Clare and Luke’s day so brilliant…
