Welcome to Laura and Raff’s beautiful Surrey wedding at Hampton Court House. Originally from the UK, Laura and Raff now live in Australia, so Skype was how we’d been communicating until they flew over for their nuptials. They had done a spectacular job arranging everything from the far side of the globe.
With Laura working in the fashion industry, she had said how important her wedding dress was and that she was over the moon when she found ‘the one’. I’m sure you’ll agree, her stunning dress, designed by Jenny Packham, was incredible.
The girlies got ready at Laura’s family home in Twickenham, where there was a flurry of getting dolled-up activity to the soundtracks of Laura’s dad’s old 1920′s tunes. He was very surprised to learn that his music was now in vogue as a result of the remake of the film ‘The Great Gatsby’!
Seeing Laura and her girls get ready was magical; there was so much excitement in the air and when she put on her wedding dress the transformation into an elegant bride didn’t leave many dry eyes in the house!
Following this, champagne was sipped in the garden whilst the girls giggled away, talking excitedly about the day ahead.
Over at Hampton Court House most of the clouds had disappeared leaving blue sky, which was the perfect addition to the pictures of all the wedding action. Raff and his boys were greeting the guests as they arrived and all seemed calm and under control.
Despite having been living in Australia for the last few years, it was clear to see that the couple had a wonderful bunch of friends back here in the UK. Seeing everyone have such a ball, it was obvious that the distance had not affected the wonderful friendships.
However, it wasn’t just friends from Blighty, who came to their wedding. A bunch of their Aussie chums had flown over especially for the occasion, as well as friends from Dubai, Singapore and Europe.
Pimms and champagne were enjoyed in the sunshine in front of the house, which was in a picturesque setting and just had that quintessentially British feeling to it. Hampton Court House backs on to Bushy Park, so during the reception the newlyweds joined me and my cameras for a few photos. It really is a great part of the day when the couple have a little bit of time to themselves and off they wandered into the distance chatting away to each other excitedly, whilst I snapped from different angles. With the couple surrounded by the lushness of the verdant park, it could easily have been mistaken for a scene from Pride & Prejudice!
After a sumptuous meal the brilliant speeches kept one and all highly entertained: rowdy but good-natured, whooping bridesmaids, references to Scotland, lots of beautiful words and thank yous, tears, laughter and a Smurf hat!
As you can see from the photos, the venue is exquisite and the couple really added some wonderful, unique features to it: from old photos of relatives’ wedding displayed in the corridors, the congratulatory cards in a cute briefcase, which was covered in fun pics of Laura and Raff, and the most impressive was how they decorated the dining room. With the room being so large, they hired huge trees and the green leaves against the red walls really gave the room such a wonderful al fresco feel.
The celebrations continued into the evening with things moving up a gear when the DJ’s music started, playing a whole bunch of brill tunes from the Nineties & Noughties and some really impressive dance moves being busted out on the dance floor!
Really hope that you enjoy having a look at few of Laura and Raff’s wedding photos x
