I am so delighted to be sharing photos from the amazing wedding celebrations of delightful Alli and Matty in Faro, Portugal.
.
The celebrations started the night before their wedding at the super, stunning Carvieiro Sky Bar. Surrounded by picturesque ocean views, the couples’ nearest and dearest chatted and laughed, clicked charged glasses filled with fabulous cocktails with chilled tunes filling the air. The atmosphere was fantastic and a truly wonderful night was had by all.
.
Portugal is a very dear place for the happy couple because Alli’s family had a villa there and with that came many years of happy, sun-filled memories.
.
Being the photographer for Alli and Matty’s engagement party in Portugal was such fun. Especially for destination weddings where there are often drink or dinner soirées happening the day before the wedding, it really is great that I can document the festivities. It is also such a wonderful way to meet and interact with the guests and families ahead of the main event.
.
In preparation for photographing weddings, I love to get to know the couple ahead of the wedding day and love finding out about them and their story. This couple has so many fantastic accounts of memorable adventures and experiences that they have enjoyed together from ski season to sailing around tropical islands – funnily enough I feel that I’m a little bit a part of that because I met Ally back on Christmas Day in 2012 on the magical island of Antigua!
.
Here is the amusing tale told by Matt of how this fun, sociable couple met…
.
“Alli owned the pub on the same road in Notting Hill where I ran a club and not before long our paths crossed thanks to one of my staff members. They had had borrowed a canister of gas from Alli’s pub while I was away. Upon my return my bar manager said to me that Alli from the Red Lemon Pub had been in touch asking why we hadn’t returned the canister. “Pretty p*ssed off” was how she was described! So I immediately went down with said canister over my shoulder and Alli came out ready to blow her lid but it never got to that because we immediately hit it off! We became good friends then after a year after I’d left the area we met one weekend in Wimbledon Village and the rest is history!’
.
I really hope that these photos and their story have made you smile and do stay tuned here on the JLP blog because their wonderful wedding over in Portugal at the stunning Quinta dos Vales will be featured very soon! x
