MARRIED…..Anthea & Ollie’s Wedding at Parkside in Cobham

By julietlemon September 12 2013 - 02.23 PM

Welcome to Anthea & Ollie’s absolutely gorgeous wedding in  lush, leafy Surrey!  The  day started for us over at the Brooklands Hotel with Anthea, her six stunning bridesmaids and her Mum.  There was a flurry of activity going on in the bridal suite from hair getting styled, make up being done, gifts being given, bubbly being sipped right through to golf clubs taking centre stage!

Whilst Anthea was getting ready, we staged a photo for the groom of all the bridesmaids holding signs reading ‘JUST WAIT TILL YOU SEE HER’  and this was taken on a phone and sent to him… I’m sure that upon receipt of this it probably didn’t help with his nerves!!!

Anthea’s stunning wedding dress, which she had bought over in the States was absolutely exquisite and finished off with the stunning family heirloom necklace and her million dollar smile she looked just perfect.

Sipping champagne, enjoying the warmth of the sunshine on the balcony, surrounded by the stunning views of Surrey, Anthea and her girls enjoyed the magic and excitement of the morning.

When we caught up with the boys everything was under control and much banter was being flung in all directions with little hilarious snippets from the stag-do being recounted.

The arriving guests filled up the church at Parkside and waited with  great anticipation to see the bride walk down the aisle and then Ollie, who had had a few quiet moments to himself… think he was so lost in his thoughts he didn’t see me lurking stealthily behind the lectern capturing a few shots of him before his big moment.

The entourage of bridesmaids glided down the aisle with beaming smiles and Ollie’s excitement grew as his face too shone with excitement.  Seconds later, his radiant bride, who had been escorted down the aisle by her two brothers, was by his side.  It was so special to see and to capture such pure joy in the photographs.

During the service, the beautiful bride shared a reading and her words were so touching and powerful and totally from the heart that it was a bit of a tear jerker!

The ‘just married’ couple emerged from the church into glorious sunshine, where they were congratulated by  family and friends and showered in confetti.

There had actually been a little bit of a drama during the wedding ceremony that was unbeknown to the couple… Their vintage wedding car had broken down and wasn’t drivable,  so the whole plan of the couple leaving in  it after the ceremony wasn’t looking possible.  The chauffeur had called the AA, who fortunately were able to get there quickly, so quickly in fact that the car was fixed by the end of the service.  None of the guests had any idea about this little episode, but with my knowledge of cars, I had suspected a bit of a problem as the wedding car was driving off having dropped off the bride. So whilst I was at the front of the church during the service, my lovely second photographer Alex kept an eagle eye on what was going on outside and nipped out to photograph the repair action……..good skills Alex!

The reception was so much fun! Blissfully chilled Ibiza-style tunes as the soundtrack with everyone sipping Pimms and bubbly in the sunshine.  Duck races were underway in the stream near the marquee with all the guests getting very involved and cheering on their selected coloured ducks.  Beanbag throwing games kept many of the boys entertained and out of mischief.

For the handful of group shots that we did, the steps at Parkside were the perfect setting for them.  The couple had specifically requested ‘no stuffy group shots’ (not that we do stuffy pictures!!!),  so of course they were made really fun and relaxed with everyone enjoying themselves.

Anthea’s Mum gave a beautiful speech before everyone sat down for dinner and it was so moving and thoughtful that there weren’t many dry eyes in the house.

After a delicious yummy and hearty meal of bangers and mash and some lovely words from the Groom, his entourage of four kept everyone entertained and in fits of laughter during their hilarious speeches with some rather embarrassing home truths coming out and a very interactive quiz for all the guest.

The rest of the evening was filled with more liquid celebration, super impressive shapes on the dance floor and loads more fun. At the end of course we put our cameras down and joined in the party – it would have been rude not to!!!

Hope you enjoy seeing some of the photos from their beautiful wedding day! x
