MARRIED…..Cat & Darren’s Northbrook Park Wedding

By julietlemon October 8 2014 - 04.57 PM

It was such a pleasure photographing Cat and Darren’s amazing wedding and I am super excited to be sharing some of the photos from their day with you all because they are such a lovely couple!!

You may remember them from their buttercup engagement shoot over in Farnham a few months ago, which was so much fun  and some of you may have met Cat at The National Wedding Show, Earls Court.

First stop of the day was over at the Four Seasons Hotel in Farnham to catch up with Darren and his boys. The chaps had a real giggle larking around, joking with each other and enjoying the calm of the morning as if they had all the time in the word.  Of course we had to get Darren’s rather swanky motor into the photos; his Audi R8 which looked brill with wedding ribbon on!

Cat and her girls were getting ready at the wedding venue cottages at the beautiful Northbrook Park. There was a flurry of excited action going on with hair and makeup being perfected, champagne corks popping and the helpful bridesmaids putting the finishing touches to the table favours in place for the wedding breakfast – one of the advantages of getting ready at  the reception venue!

Whilst the girlies were busy with that I photographed the details, which I just love doing. These included the flowers and bouquet which had personalised charms attached in remembrance of loved ones who couldn’t be at their wedding, the Bride’s killer high heel shoes, her perfume and jewellery and I also photographed the beautifully designed printout of their personalised wedding vows. The words were truly thoughtful and loving.  I was certain they would be well received at the ceremony although they definitely had the potential to be a tear jerker!

Cat was resplendent in her wedding dress. Her hair and make up were flawless and her Bridesmaids were all on the verge of tears (of joy) as they aided her with her transformation into beautiful bride!  Thankfully  champagne was on hand to help keep the tears and the nerves at bay.
The ceremony was beautiful!  The day had started off cloudy with thunderstorms forecast but fortunately the clouds cleared up during the ceremony and so the newlyweds emerged into the gardens under clear blue skies and the sweltering afternoon heat.

The setting for the  reception was stunning, set in a lush, immaculately manicured lawn in the walled garden. With champagne flowing and delicious canapés served people gravitated towards the only 2 trees providing shade. In spite of the heat everyone was having the best time.

Before the wedding breakfast I had a chance to take some photos of Cat & Darren in other parts of the grounds and this was so much fun. They chatted excitedly about their special day and it was nice for them to have a few alone moments.  They were completely comfortable in front of the camera, so much so that I could photograph them from a distance, allowing them to enjoy their private time.  They remembered all the valuable engagement shoot ‘top tips’ and were perfect subjects for my lenses. There were many wonderful areas of the venue to incorporate into the pictures providing a range of scenic backdrops from the lawns at the front to the log piles out back.  Peacocks had free run of the gardens and one fell in love with Darren’s car… albeit admiring its own reflection!

The wedding breakfast took place in the airy conservatory, which is a photographer’s dream to shoot in.  Fabulous natural light flooded in and the backdrop of fairy lights nestled amongst the climbing vines on the walls was magical.  The speeches that followed were brilliantly entertaining and had everyone in fits of laughter especially the presentation of a Superman outfit  to the Groom and the guest appearance of an inflatable sheep topped off the hilarity!

Fun and frolics continued into the evening and included the rare sighting of the couple dancing together, which of course had to be papped! (Darren never hits the dance floor!)   I presented an evening slide show for the couple and their overnight guests, which they enjoyed and the celebrations continued into the wee hours.

Cat & Darren, it has been an absolute honour getting to know you and thank you for booking me to photograph your amazing wedding.  I am really looking forward to coming over to see the wedding video and the safari photographs you took on your honeymoon x
