On a beautiful sunny day in June the absolutely lovely Rachael and Chris, who you might recognise from their Greenwich engagement photography shoot, were married at Chandos House, a Grade 1 listed boutique hotel in Marylebone, London. This was also the venue for the reception.
Rachael and her entourage of lovely girls got ready in the elegant Bridal Suite, with the yellow floral wallpaper providing a vibrant and ideal backdrop for photography and the large bay windows letting in lots of natural light. The little flower girls occupied themselves with an iPad while the Bride and her bridesmaids got dolled up.
Rachel fought hard to stop her nerves getting the better of her by focussing on the preparations at hand, keeping calm and collected so as not to let her mind wander to the enormity of the day that lay ahead,
While Rachael was having her hair and makeup done by the talented Louise, I was able to photograph lots of the lovely details of her day, from the exquisite floral arrangements created by Benjamina to the sparkly Ivory & Co. tiara and bracelet.
The Groom was, conveniently, also getting ready at Chandos House so I was able to capture a few pre-ceremony pictures of him and his best man.
Downstairs the guests, many of whom were from Newcastle, took their seats in the ceremony room all excited and delighted to be witnessing the marriage and to be part of the couple’s happy day.
The ceremony was beautiful and included readings by the bridesmaids. After the vows were exchanged and the newlyweds had their first kiss, the Bride did a fun little happy dance, which received much applause and cheers from the guests.
The reception was held in the courtyard, where lots of mingling and drinking went on, with the newlyweds partying with their guests.
Before the wedding breakfast the couple joined me and my cameras for a little newlywed alone time. We ventured out into the throng of shoppers on Regent Street, where we got some great photos of them amidst the bustle of London street life.
After the wedding meal it was time for the speeches, where the Bride’s Father, clearly beaming with pride, shared some beautiful anecdotes about his daughter. Then it was the turn of Chris, the Groom. He expressed lovely, heartfelt words leaving not many dry eyes in the room. It was at this point that Rachael was completely overcome with emotion and her tears flowed.
The best man then took the floor and his speeches were absolutely brilliant! He had everyone in hysterics with his stories about Chris’s drunken antics over the years and being his brother he had an ample repertoire.
After the cutting of the cake the fun evening festivities began and it was time for the guests to enjoy a BBQ, more celebrating and lots of crazy dancing on the dance floor.
Rachael & Chris, it was such an honour photographing your beautiful wedding and I really hope that these photos help you relive your inducible day. Thanks for the vino and it was a real giggle partying with you guys right till the end!! x
Absolutely massive SHOUT OUT to all the super suppliers that worked so hard to make Chris & Rachael’s wedding day so wonderful
