MARRIED…..Part I: Coco & Allan’s Surrey Wedding – Putney Wedding Photographer

By julietlemon May 30 2015 - 11.42 AM

Welcome to the lovely Coco & Allan’s Surrey wedding!  There is no denying that weather-wise, it was a grim start to the day with dark, ominous clouds above but that certainly didn’t dampen spirits.

The hub of activity was happening in Godstone at Coco’s family home, which was also the venue for the reception later that day and the church was right across the road; all so incredibly convenient!

Everything with the girls was super-chilled, organised and ahead of schedule; with Coco nothing less would be expected! The girls were all ready in good time which gave them the perfect opportunity to pop open a bottle of bubbly.

There was such a lovely buzz to the morning with the super-helpful bridesmaids assisting Coco with the finishing touches to the details of her day.

With the close proximity of the church I was able to pop out and catch up with the excited Groom and his entourage before they entered the church.

I was delighted to see that the Groom had organised a Kenyan flag to be flown on the flagpole so of course got photos of that!

Allan and his groomsmen were such fun to photograph and with the Groom busying himself to deal with any nerves it seemed the quick photo session came as a welcome distraction.

Back with the Bride and her girls, the champagne was still flowing and Coco looked incredible. Her hair, her makeup, her dress, her jewellery, absolutely everything was perfect.

When the time had come to leave for the church, loads of umbrellas came to the rescue providing the Bride and her entourage with cover from the drizzle.

The church was packed with excited family and friends all eagerly awaiting the Bride’s arrival and they were not disappointed. The radiant Coco glided elegantly down the aisle, beaming the biggest smile in the world as she joined her Husband-to-be at the altar.

The church service was beautiful with delightful readings, my favourite being the one about the dinosaurs.  The Gospel choir sang melodiously and their joyful voices filled the church.  At the end of the ceremony they even sang a charming ‘Bon voyage’ song to the newlyweds and the congregation; it was such a delight to hear. The newly-married couple emerged from the church to sunshine and blue sky which was absolutely magical.  Of course making the most of the good light and dry weather conditions we cracked on with the handful of group photos in the sunshine then all headed over the road to her parent’s house for canapés on the lawn.Everyone at the wedding was so friendly, all enjoying a great time, and there was much laughter to capture in the photos.  Family and friends had travelled from far and wide:  Kenya, Scotland and even someone who’d been sailing round the world.

The rest of the evening was brilliant, filled with great food, wonderful speeches by all, with even a bit of an ‘open mike’ session which was a great way for many of the guests to get involved and of course a big MY PLEASURE Allan for thanking me in your speech!

A little later in the evening Coco and Allan had organised a fun surprise for their guests which was a SUPER-DUPER FUN PHOTO BOOTH by yours truly.  Yup, lots of alcohol-fuelled wedding guests delving into my fancy dress box and acting like big kids in front of the camera > GENIUS!

Yup, loads of fun and silliness was had in the Photo Booth and there is a lot of photographic evidence to prove it and those photos can be seen in PART II of their blog feature! The couple and their guests continued the celebrations right through to the early hours, which resulted in some wonderful moves being busted out on the dance floor and there were also massive ‘tiger action’ photos which was such a giggle!Coco & Allan – it was such an honour photographing your stunning wedding day. You two are so lovely, kind-hearted and thoughtful and I wish you a lifetime of happiness. x
