Welcome to the second installment of Liezl & Matt’s safari “Rock the Frock”! Just in case you missed the pics from the previous shoots, do have a squiz here at their pre-wedding adventure and their wedding day.
The day after Part I of their “Rock the Frock Safari Style Shoot” was filled with a whole lot more pretty picture-taking.
The after effects of the wedding had caught up with Matt and he was feeling exhausted and a tad under the weather. So we gave him the morning off and Liezl joined me and my cameras for a little trip into the bush. We set off early before the heat of the african sun set in and soaring temperatures began the usual attempt to try to melt everything!
After the dusty antics at sunset from Part 1 of the “Rock The Frock” shoot, we decided a change of attire was needed. This time around we’d gone with a classic outfit, inspired by a safari shoot done back in the ’60s by photographer Norman Parkinson, whose work I have always admired. We had a pith helmet, vintage suitcase and lace parasol, which were all very in keeping with shots he’d taken way back then.
We set off into the bush in the 4×4 packed with the various camera gear and props and found a perfect spot – a clearing in the bush with a few dead logs and bare trees. Having driven around the area checking to see if there were any lions, leopards or other such woozels lurking in the thicket and finding none, we were good to commence the shoot.
Liezl looked incredible, immaculately dressed in her prim and proper outfit with dry bush scrub surrounding her.
Unlike the episode of the evening before when we were ‘photo bombed’ by an elephant, we were relieved not to have any gate- crashers at our shoot.
We larked around in the sunshine had a real hoot. I also let Liezl loose with my camera and she snapped a few pics for yours truly – the snapper getting snapped!!!
We returned to Sango Camp for 9 am, where we found Matt up and about and feeling better so we roped him into a final few pics with his lovely bride.
Really hope that you love the photos from Part II of their shoot and also big THANKS to the lovely gang at Sango Camp (@Bush_Ways on Twitter)for having us over 🙂
