Golly gosh! What an incredible weekend! For the past 3 days I’ve been over at Earls Court exhibiting at the biggest and the best wedding show in the UK, The National Wedding Show, and it was BRILLIANT!
I had a super gang to help me, appropriately named the Lemonettes. Four of them were Brides whose weddings I had previously photographed – Amy, Cat, Donna and Jane as well as fellow photographer Emily who did a great job of snapping us throughout the weekend.
The 3 days flew by so very quickly as our stand was swamped with enquiries. This resulted in my wedding booking diary filling up really quickly. With this being the case and enquiries already coming through for 2016, just a note to say that if you do like my work and you are interested in chatting more about me photographing your wedding day I would advise you to get in touch sooner than later, especially for weddings on weekends during the summer months.
A definite highlight was being filmed by the lovely Matthew from Captiv8 Media, for a feature which I look forward to sharing with you very soon. It was very different being on the other side of the camera and Matthew made it fun and chilled and I really enjoyed it. Big thanks go to the lovely Beauty Call girls, who did all our hair on the Sunday morning making us all camera-ready for Matthew
Throughout the weekend we also had some lovely visits from couples, whose weddings I am going to be photographing and whose weddings I have photographed. So BIG shout out toJo & Olly, Mike & Lucie, Rebecca who brought her Dad and Olivia who came with her Mum. Thank you all for stopping by!
I ran a “WIN YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY” competition during the show and I am delighted to announce that the winner has been drawn and notified. The winning couple are EMMA & MARKĀ and they will be getting married in May 2015. They came to the show on Sunday and I was thrilled to call to let them know that they had won. The good news was received with screams down the ‘phone, much to the delight of Emma’s work colleagues. Mark was gobsmacked saying, “I’ve never won anything since winning the Egg & Spoon race in Junior School.” Emma sent a lovely text: “Hi Juliet, I’ve just spoken to Mark, this is incredible news!!! How bloody exciting!! We never win anything!!” I’m meeting them later on this month and am really looking forward to their wedding next year!
We spoke to loads of lovely, excited Brides and Grooms-to-be and it was so much fun. I showcased my wedding albums and it was wonderful that my Lemonettes could provide first hand experience.
What’s so wonderful about the wedding world is that there are so many brilliant and talented like-minded suppliers who are so very passionate about their jobs, their clients and the industry. It’s always such a pleasure to catch up with them en masse at the show and of course to meet new ones too.
It was great to catch up with some of the Bloggers who stopped by to say “Hi”, especially Lottie from Lace & Love Hearts and Nods from Daydreaming Bride.
Big thanks to all the amazing organisers of the National Wedding Show for all their hard work and such a great show and I am already looking forward to being there next year.
