Last week’s London Night photography Workshop was absolutely brill. We had a lovely bunch of keen photographers come join us armed with their camera gear.
Once we’d had the briefing of all the areas were were going to cover in the world of night photography, we headed into the night and photographed from various spots on Southbank.
We really are so lucky to have such iconic monuments and scenes to photograph – Big Ben, the House of Commons, Westminster Bridge, the River Thames as well as the London Eye.
All the photographers got to grips with the settings and different effects that could be achieved and were soon getting great photos of London at night.
One of the photographers, who came along to the workshop is due to go and see the Northern Lights next month. Not having had any experience of photographing at night before, this session really helped him get to grips with the settings that were required and the adjustments he could make to get the desired image.
In the pub after the shoot, we had our ‘post-shoot debrief’, which gave us the chance to look through all the brill photos that had been taken and to talk through everything that had been learnt.
Thanks to the lovely photographers, who came and joined us last week! It was great having you and your cameras along to join us and learn about the wonderful world of night photography.
We’ll be releasing the dates of our next workshops very soon 🙂
Here are a few nice words we’ve had in from last week’s photographers, who joined us……
“I recently attended one of Juliet’s evening photography classes in London. It was highly interactive, informative, and of course fun. Juliet’s communication style means you’re comfortable asking for advice and discussing ideas. Juliet willingly shares her experience and knowledge, hence I learnt more that night than other workshops I’ve completed previously (including full weekend seminars). I will be doing more of Juliet’s workshops, and would recommend her highly on both the teaching and professional photography fronts”
– Craig, London
“Thanks so much for a really informative workshop last week. For someone that has never tackled night photography before, I’m delighted with the photos. I learnt loads about my camera and how to get the photos that I want. The locations were great and I had a laugh with the other photographers. Drinks in the pub after the workshop not only gave us a chance to warm up, but also to chat about the evening and chat more photography stuff. Thanks and will definitely come back”
– Simon, London
“Thank you also for your help last Thursday evening; I have not taken any night photographs before so it was a big confidence booster just getting out there and doing it – but more importantly, having you on hand to get some initial guidance and to check on things as the session progressed”
– John, Surrey
