Following their glamorous rooftop welcome party at Sky Bar Carvoeiro the evening before, the celebrations continued beneath glorious Portuguese sunshine. The atmosphere felt relaxed, stylish and centred around giving guests a truly unforgettable experience.
The morning began with golf course moments and poolside bridal preparations. Soon after, guests gathered for heartfelt vineyard vows surrounded by loved ones.
As the day unfolded, champagne flowed and laughter filled the air. The Algarve sun later created beautiful golden light for relaxed evening portraits.
When night arrived, the dance floor quickly filled with energy and celebration. Throughout the day, this Algarve destination wedding felt full of warmth, personality and connection.

A WEDDING MORNING FILLED WITH SUNSHINE
Ali and Matty’s wedding morning suited them perfectly and immediately set the tone for the rest of the celebrations. It felt calm, joyful and full of anticipation from the very beginning.
While Matty and his groomsmen headed to Vale de Milho Golf for a relaxed morning in the Algarve sunshine, Ali spent the morning at a beautiful private villa. She was surrounded by her closest friends and family as preparations unfolded.
Although both locations had a different atmosphere, they shared the same feeling. There was excitement, anticipation and a beautifully relaxed sense of celebration before the day officially began.
Golf, Laughter and Groom Preparations at Vale de Milho
The boys’ morning on the golf course was such a brilliant alternative to traditional groom preparations.
With blue skies overhead, golf buggies moving between the fairways and plenty of laughter along the way, the atmosphere felt relaxed and full of energy. It created endless opportunities for natural, candid photographs before the wedding day had even properly begun.
After a morning on the greens, the group gathered together for breakfast before heading back to prepare for the celebrations ahead.
Poolside Bridal Preparations at a Private Algarve Villa
Meanwhile, Ali’s bridal preparations had an effortlessly glamorous atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Everything felt calm, joyful and full of excitement right from the start.
The terrace was filled with sunshine, chilled pink bubbles, pastries and music. It created a relaxed Ibiza inspired feel that suited the destination setting beautifully. This kind of atmosphere always feels perfect for natural wedding photography.
Ali’s stunning gown from The Mews Bridal in Notting Hill looked absolutely incredible. Photographing it beside the pool added a stylish editorial feel, while still keeping everything relaxed and true to the day.

Matty and the boys arrived in a wonderfully playful yellow orange camper van, which instantly reflected the relaxed and personality filled atmosphere of the day.

SAYING “I DO” AMONG THE VINEYARDS
Ali and Matty’s outdoor ceremony was everything couples dream of when planning a destination wedding in Portugal.
Surrounded by vineyards, gardens and their favourite people, they exchanged vows beneath warm Portuguese sunshine in an atmosphere that felt emotional, joyful and wonderfully relaxed.
The ceremony itself was filled with personality and laughter thanks to the brilliant registrars, whose humour created some priceless reactions from both the couple and their guests.
Moments like these are always such a joy to photograph because everything unfolds so naturally.
CHAMPAGNE AND GARDEN CELEBRATIONS
As soon as the ceremony ended, guests made their way into the beautiful walled gardens. Champagne flowed freely as conversations continued beneath the palm trees.
With sculptures surrounding the gardens and glasses clinking in the sunshine, laughter echoed across the venue. The atmosphere felt elegant, relaxed and full of life.
GOLDEN HOUR PORTRAITS IN THE VINEYARDS
One of the things I love most about photographing weddings in the Algarve is the quality of the light, especially as the afternoon slowly transitions into evening.
As the sunshine softened into golden tones, we wandered into the vineyards for portraits and the setting could not have been more perfect for Ali and Matty.
The rows of vines, warm evening light and peaceful surroundings created the most beautiful backdrop for relaxed and romantic photographs.

A FUN AND INTERACTIVE WEDDING FEAST
Back at the reception, the atmosphere continued to build as guests sat down for one of the most entertaining wedding breakfasts I have photographed in a long time.
Their interactive sharing feast brought everyone together in such a fun and memorable way.
Designated table hosts wore chef hats and aprons while carving and serving food for their guests, which created a lively and wonderfully engaging atmosphere throughout the evening.
Every detail reflected Ali and Matty’s personalities beautifully while creating such an enjoyable experience for everyone around them.
SPEECHES, CHAMPAGNE AND A PACKED DANCE FLOOR
By the time speeches began, the atmosphere inside Quinta dos Vales had reached another level entirely.
The speeches were heartfelt, emotional and incredibly funny, with guests laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next.
As the live band began playing, the dance floor filled instantly and stayed full for the rest of the night.
From flowing champagne and energetic dancing to crowd surfing moments and one of the most iconic cheese tower wedding cakes I have ever seen, the entire evening felt wonderfully vibrant and full of celebration.
