A STYLISH CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL WEDDING IN THE HEART OF LONDON

There is something utterly timeless about a London wedding, and Erin’s beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding, which I had the pleasure of photographing as her wedding photographer, was exactly that.

Elegant yet relaxed, stylish yet deeply personal, this wonderful summer wedding captured everything I love about photographing weddings in my home city.

As a London-born wedding photographer who lives and works in this incredible city, photographing weddings in Chelsea is always such a joy. The energy, the architecture, the iconic red buses, the movement, the history, the glamour. London itself becomes part of the love story.

And on this particular July day, London was looking exceptional.

With blue skies overhead, warm sunshine pouring through the streets, Union Jack bunting fluttering beautifully and the unmistakable buzz of city life all around, Erin’s intimate London registry office wedding felt effortlessly iconic.

WHY CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL IS SUCH AN ICONIC LONDON WEDDING VENUE

Chelsea Old Town Hall is one of London’s most beloved registry office wedding venues, and it is easy to see why.

Situated on the King’s Road, right in the heart of Chelsea, it offers couples:

  • iconic London architecture
  • elegant registry office ceremony rooms
  • beautiful stone steps for confetti moments
  • stylish Chelsea streets on your doorstep
  • proximity to incredible reception venues like Daphne’s
  • timeless London charm

For couples wanting a chic, intimate London wedding, Chelsea Old Town Hall is hard to beat.

A GLORIOUS JULY WEDDING IN LONDON

The weather on Erin’s wedding day could not have been more perfect.

Warm sunshine, clear skies and that wonderful golden brightness that London occasionally blesses us with made the whole day feel vibrant and celebratory.

The streets were decorated with Union Jack bunting, adding a quintessentially British feel, and as iconic red London buses drove by, guests and passers-by couldn’t help but smile.

One of my favourite things about photographing London weddings is this exact juxtaposition. The fast-paced energy of the city mixed with deeply personal, intimate moments.

It is classic London, and it is magic.

EFFORTLESS LONDON BRIDAL STYLE

Erin looked absolutely incredible.

Her bridal look was the perfect reflection of the day itself. Chic, modern, elegant and fashion-forward.

She wore a stunning two-piece Suzanne Neville outfit from Miss Bush, featuring a beautiful crop top and long skirt combination that felt both contemporary and timeless.

For a London registry office wedding, this style was perfection.

Her look was beautifully complemented by:

The overall result was polished, stylish and effortlessly sophisticated.

A NATURAL, CANDID APPROACH TO LONDON WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

One of the things I loved most about this day was how naturally everything flowed.

Rather than lots of staged or overly formal photography, the approach was relaxed, candid and documentary-led.

This meant I was able to capture:

  • genuine excitement before the ceremony
  • emotional ceremony moments
  • joyful confetti celebrations
  • natural guest interactions
  • stylish street photography through Chelsea
  • elegant but effortless portraits

This style of photography works so beautifully for London weddings because it allows the city itself to become part of the story.

KIND WORDS FROM ERIN & ROBERT

Juliet made our wedding day so special and put us at ease.

We are not the type of couple who love pictures and shy away from them but Juliet made us feel amazing. I would highly recommend her!

Everyone at our wedding said Juliet was so lovely and very professional and social and they didn’t know they were having their pictures taken.

Thank you for making our day so special.

THE ICONIC CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL STEPS

Few places in London are more synonymous with registry office weddings than the steps of Chelsea Old Town Hall.

After the ceremony, Erin and her new husband emerged to the most joyful confetti moment, surrounded by loved ones and framed by one of the city’s most recognisable wedding landmarks.

The atmosphere was full of cheers, laughter and celebration.

And then came one of those truly London moments… passing red buses tooting congratulations as they drove by.

Honestly, it was perfection.

A STROLL THROUGH BEAUTIFUL CHELSEA

After spending time mingling outside the Town Hall, the wedding party made their way on foot through the charming streets of Chelsea to Daphne’s.

This was such a beautiful part of the day.

Chelsea offers an effortlessly elegant backdrop for wedding photography with its:

  • picturesque London streets
  • stylish shopfronts
  • classic architecture
  • leafy corners
  • iconic city energy

Walking weddings like this are an absolute dream because they create so many natural photographic opportunities.

Every laugh, every glance, every little in-between moment becomes part of the visual story.

A LUXURY WEDDING BREAKFAST AT DAPHNE’S

Daphne’s was the perfect choice for Erin’s intimate wedding breakfast.

Elegant, refined and full of character, it offered a stunning setting for a celebratory meal in one of London’s most stylish neighbourhoods.

The transition from registry office ceremony to chic Chelsea dining felt seamless and deeply personal.

This is one of the things I love most about smaller London weddings. They can feel luxurious and elevated without ever losing intimacy.

WHY INTIMATE LONDON WEDDINGS ARE SO SPECIAL

Erin’s wedding is a perfect example of why smaller city weddings can be so powerful.

There is something wonderfully freeing about focusing on:

  • meaningful guest connections
  • beautiful locations
  • incredible food
  • style
  • simplicity
  • atmosphere

Without the scale of a larger wedding, couples often have more flexibility to create a day that feels uniquely them.

PHOTOGRAPHING WEDDINGS IN MY HOME CITY

As someone born in London and based here, photographing weddings in this city always carries something extra special for me.

London is not just a backdrop. It is layered, dynamic, emotional and iconic.

I love:

  • the contrast between romance and city bustle
  • black cabs and red buses
  • grand architecture
  • hidden quiet moments in busy places
  • elegant venues tucked into historic streets

Chelsea, in particular, offers such a beautiful balance of sophistication, intimacy and quintessential London style.

It is always such a joy working alongside talented creatives who help make a wedding day feel so seamless and special.

PART ONE OF ERIN AND ROBERT’S BEAUTIFUL TWO PART WEDDING STORY

Erin and Robert’s elegant Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding was just the beginning of their incredible wedding journey.

Their London celebration was full of city charm, style and intimate moments shared with their closest family and friends. But this was only part of the story.

A few months later, they continued the celebration with a completely different kind of wedding day, a breathtaking Surrey marquee wedding surrounded by lakes, florals and countryside views.

Photographing both parts of their journey was something truly special. It’s not often you get to capture a love story unfold across both London and the countryside, each day with its own atmosphere, energy and beauty.
