A LUXURY SURREY MARQUEE WEDDING FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER AND NATURAL BEAUTY
Some weddings are beautiful. Some are full of joy. And then there are weddings like Erin and Robert’s, the kind that feels genuinely magical from beginning to end.
Their Surrey marquee wedding was everything a countryside celebration should be. Elegant yet relaxed, beautifully styled yet deeply personal, and filled with so much warmth and fun that you couldn’t help but feel part of it.
For couples looking for a Surrey marquee wedding photographer, this is such a lovely example of what makes these weddings so special.
Set beside stunning lakes and surrounded by nature, their day was full of heartfelt moments and thoughtful details, striking that perfect balance between luxury and authenticity.
FROM UNIVERSITY SPORTS NIGHT TO A DECADE OF LOVE
Erin and Robert’s story began over ten years ago while studying in London.
Erin was at the Royal Veterinary College, Robert at Imperial, and they met on a university sports night where Robert, brilliantly, was dressed as a bear.
As Erin said so perfectly, “The vet in me obviously thought he needed some help.”
And just like that, everything began.
Their relationship has been built on friendship, fun and adventure ever since, which made their wedding feel even more meaningful.
A BEAUTIFUL PROPOSAL IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
Robert proposed in one of Erin’s most meaningful places, Dove Stones in Saddleworth in the Peak District.
It is not only one of her favourite walks, but also where her grandmother’s ashes had been scattered, which made the moment incredibly emotional.
It was a complete surprise, followed by shock, happy tears and so much joy.
Honestly… so romantic.

FROM CHELSEA OLD TOWN HALL TO A LUXURY SURREY MARQUEE WEDDING
Before their larger Surrey marquee celebration, Erin and Robert had already said “I do” in style with an intimate London registry office wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall.
Their Chelsea ceremony was such a beautiful city celebration, full of iconic London charm, effortlessly stylish details and a relaxed wedding breakfast at Daphne’s in Chelsea.
Being able to photograph both parts of their wedding journey was incredibly special, from chic London moments in the heart of Chelsea to their breathtaking countryside marquee wedding in Surrey.

WHY SURREY MARQUEE WEDDINGS ARE SO SPECIAL
Marquee weddings in Surrey have become increasingly popular, especially for couples wanting something that feels personal and completely their own.
Erin and Robert’s wedding is a perfect example of why.
The beauty of a Surrey marquee wedding includes:
- Complete creative freedom
- Stunning countryside settings
- Personalised styling
- Seamless indoor and outdoor flow
- Flexible guest numbers
- A beautifully relaxed atmosphere with a refined feel
- Beautiful golden hour and evening light
For couples wanting elegance without feeling restricted, a Surrey marquee wedding really is such a special choice.
A DREAMY WEDDING MORNING AT THE MERRY HARRIERS
The day began at The Merry Harriers, where Erin and her bridal party got ready in the most charming shepherd’s huts, while the boys enjoyed a relaxed morning at the pub.
In one of my favourite moments from the morning, the groomsmen went off to meet the local llamas, which definitely set the tone for the day.
These are exactly the kinds of moments I love capturing. Fun, spontaneous and a little unexpected, they bring so much life to a wedding gallery.

A SUZANNE NEVILLE BRIDE
Erin looked absolutely incredible.
She wore Suzanne Neville’s “Serrano” gown from Miss Bush, paired with a cathedral length lace veil. The whole look felt timeless, elegant and effortlessly modern.
Her bridal look was completed by:
- Bridal Makeup Artist: Birute Thomas
- Hair and Makeup: Rosie H from The Bridal Stylists
She truly embodied understated luxury.
A LAKESIDE CEREMONY IN NATURE
Their ceremony took place in a beautifully styled marquee overlooking the lake, surrounded by greenery and even black swans drifting nearby.
As a Surrey marquee wedding photographer, this kind of setting is always such a dream to photograph.
The marquee was transformed by FJ Cumming Bird Studio with delicate delphinium chandeliers and soft greenery, creating a space that felt both elegant and connected to the landscape.
It was immersive, romantic and completely unforgettable.
A PERSONAL CEREMONY FILLED WITH HEART
This ceremony felt so personal and full of meaning.
- Erin’s brother in law officiated
- Family and friends gave readings
- Erin and Robert wrote their own vows
- Guests joined in singing Stand By Me
Erin walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years” played by the Surrey String Quartet, and every moment felt thoughtful and emotional.
Moments like this are what make weddings feel so meaningful, creating something that truly reflects you.
CHAMPAGNE, CANAPÉS AND LAKESIDE CELEBRATIONS
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne and canapés out on the lawns.
With the lake shimmering in the background, black swans nearby and the string quartet playing modern favourites, the atmosphere felt relaxed, joyful and full of energy.

BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE PHOTOS IN THE SURREY COUNTRYSIDE
Erin and Robert mentioned how relaxed they felt during their couple portraits, which honestly means so much to me.
Most couples say they don’t love being in front of the camera, and that’s completely normal. My approach is always gentle and unobtrusive, giving you space to just be yourselves.
Their portraits by the lake were soft, connected and full of genuine moments.
KIND WORDS FROM ERIN & ROBERT
“Juliet made our wedding day so special and put us at ease.
We are not the type of couple who love pictures and shy away from them but Juliet made us feel amazing. I would highly recommend her!
Everyone at our wedding said Juliet was so lovely and very professional and social and they didn’t know they were having their pictures taken.
Thank you for making our day so special.”
— Erin & Robert
GARDEN GAMES, DELICIOUS FOOD AND ELEVATED DETAILS
This wedding absolutely nailed the guest experience.
Guests enjoyed:
- Giant Jenga and boules
- Drinks by the lake
- Incredible catering by Caper and Berry
- Beautifully chosen wines and champagne
- Signature cocktails
- Evening sausage rolls
Weddings like this are a reminder that it’s not just about how things look, but how it feels to be there.
THOUGHTFUL PERSONAL TOUCHES
One of my favourite details was their cake by Cutter and Squidge, which featured a model of their whippet, Pickle.
Because the venue is a bird sanctuary, Pickle couldn’t attend, so this was their way of including him.
It’s little touches like this that make a wedding feel truly personal and memorable.

THE MAGIC OF DUSK PHOTOGRAPHY
I say this all the time, dusk photos are always worth it.
As the light softened, we stepped away for a few quiet moments and captured some beautiful evening portraits.
The light, the atmosphere and that just married feeling make it one of the most magical parts of the day.
A JOYFUL FIRST DANCE AND A PACKED DANCE FLOOR
Their first dance to Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer was intimate and full of emotion.
And then the party began.
- Ear Candy Live’s Motown Gold band
- Cocktails flowing
- Boomerang Booth fun
- A packed dance floor
The energy was incredible from start to finish.
WHY THIS WEDDING WAS SO SPECIAL
Looking back on Erin and Robert’s day, what stands out most is how effortlessly everything came together.
It was stylish without feeling staged, luxurious without feeling formal, and elegant while still being full of fun.
It felt completely like them, and that is always what matters most.
