If you’re looking for Art Deco wedding inspiration in Surrey, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect setting than Hampton Court House.

Nestled beside Bushy Park and moments from Hampton Court Palace, this hidden gem blends elegant architecture, beautiful gardens and light-filled interiors. It’s one of my favourite venues in Surrey for timeless, stylish celebrations.

Laura and Raf’s wedding was a beautiful example of how relaxed summer energy and classic elegance can come together effortlessly. Their late August celebration was filled with sunshine, laughter, emotional moments and beautifully considered details.

From Laura’s breathtaking Jenny Packham gown to the soft neutral palette and delicate florals, every detail felt refined without ever feeling overdone.

As a wedding photographer at Hampton Court House, weddings like this are a joy to capture. The venue, the styling and the atmosphere created the perfect setting for Art Deco wedding inspiration in Surrey, full of elegance, light and genuine emotion.

IS HAMPTON COURT HOUSE A GOOD VENUE FOR AN ELEGANT ART DECO INSPIRED WEDDING?

Absolutely.

Whilst Hampton Court House is known for its gardens and historic architecture, it’s also one of Surrey’s most versatile venues for elegant styling.

For couples drawn to Art Deco wedding inspiration, the venue offers a perfect backdrop. The grand interiors, beautiful proportions and refined detailing all complement this timeless aesthetic beautifully.

Laura and Raf embraced this effortlessly. Nothing felt overly styled or forced, yet every detail worked in harmony with the space.

It’s a perfect example of why Art Deco wedding inspiration in Surrey often draws couples to venues like Hampton Court House.

WHY IS THE PAINTED HALL SO POPULAR FOR WEDDINGS AT HAMPTON COURT HOUSE?

Beyond the gardens and interiors, the Great Hall is one of the most remarkable ceremony spaces at Hampton Court House. The room feels both grand and intimate, with high ceilings, detailed artwork and large windows overlooking Bushy Park.

Natural light fills the space throughout the day, creating bright and atmospheric wedding photographs while still preserving the sense of history and occasion. It also allows me to move quietly during ceremonies, capturing natural, candid moments without interruption.

From Raf waiting at the front to Laura’s entrance with her father and the exchange of vows, the Great Hall provides a truly beautiful setting for storytelling through photography.

WHAT WEDDING COLOUR SCHEMES WORK BEST FOR A HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING?

Soft, neutral tones always work beautifully at Hampton Court House.

Laura and Raf chose a palette of champagne, blush and warm neutral shades that complemented the venue perfectly. The bridesmaids wore soft nude and champagne dresses, while Laura carried a bouquet of white, blush and pale peach roses.

Everything felt cohesive without being overly matched.

Against the stone interiors, garden greenery and light-filled rooms, these tones created a timeless and elegant finish that photographed beautifully throughout the day.

IS HAMPTON COURT HOUSE THE PERFECT VENUE FOR AN ART DECO WEDDING IN SURREY?

Whilst Hampton Court House predates the Art Deco era, it feels perfectly suited to this style of celebration.

Its 18th-century architecture, sweeping staircases and grand Painted Hall create a sense of elegance that wouldn’t feel out of place in the 1920s or 1930s.

Art Deco wedding styling is defined by understated luxury, craftsmanship and refined detail. Hampton Court House naturally reflects all of these qualities without needing to be transformed.

For couples searching for Art Deco wedding inspiration in Surrey, Hampton Court House is one of the most naturally fitting venues available.

For Laura and Raf, everything felt completely natural. The styling, fashion and atmosphere came together in a way that felt effortless and authentic.

What makes the venue especially unique is its contrast. Inside, you have grand interiors and historic detail. Step outside, and you’re surrounded by the openness of Bushy Park and roaming deer.

It’s this balance that makes it one of the most inspiring venues for an Art Deco wedding in Surrey.

WHERE ARE THE BEST LOCATIONS FOR HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOS?

Hampton Court House offers an incredible variety of portrait locations, all within walking distance.

The grand driveway and stone steps create elegant architectural backdrops, while the interiors provide beautiful light-filled spaces for relaxed portraits.

The conservatory is particularly special, with soft natural light streaming through glass and greenery surrounding the space.

Outside, the terrace feels unexpectedly tropical in summer, with palm trees and lush planting creating a Mediterranean atmosphere.

One of my favourite moments from Laura and Raf’s wedding was just outside the conservatory, where the combination of architecture and greenery created something really special.

I agree completely. It shows professionalism, manages expectations for future couples, and positions you as somebody who knows the venue and the practicalities inside out.

I’d keep it light and positive rather than making it sound like a warning. Something like this would flow naturally.

CAN YOU TAKE WEDDING PHOTOS IN BUSHY PARK DURING A HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING?

Yes, and it’s one of the biggest advantages of the venue.

Bushy Park is just moments away, offering a completely different backdrop to the elegance of Hampton Court House.

For Laura and Raf, we stepped away briefly during the drinks reception for a quiet portrait session.

The light that day was incredible. The grass had turned golden after a dry summer, and the landscape felt almost cinematic. In fact, some of the scenery looked more like the African savannah than suburban Surrey.

It gave them a rare moment to pause, breathe and enjoy a few quiet minutes together as newlyweds.

Some of my favourite images from the day came from this short escape into the park.

It’s worth noting that professional wedding photography within Bushy Park requires permission from the Royal Parks and a photography permit must be arranged in advance. The good news is that this is a well-established process, and Hampton Court House can advise couples on the latest requirements when planning their wedding day.

For couples who love nature, open space and beautiful golden light, Bushy Park provides a truly spectacular setting for wedding photographs and is one of the many reasons Hampton Court House is such a special place to get married.

WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR IN A HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

Choosing a wedding photographer is about more than beautiful images. It’s about finding someone who understands how the venue flows throughout the day. From the Painted Hall to the gardens and Bushy Park, each space offers different light, atmosphere and energy.

A great photographer will know how to work quietly and adapt quickly, capturing moments as they naturally unfold.

When choosing your photographer, look for someone who:

  • Has experience in similar elegant venues
  • Works confidently in natural and low light
  • Captures genuine, candid moments
  • Blends into the day without interruption
  • Helps you feel relaxed in front of the camera
  • Understands how to use the venue creatively

After years of photographing weddings across Surrey and London, I’ve learned that the best images happen when couples are fully present in their day.

My role is simply to preserve those moments as they naturally unfold.

HOW DOES A PROFESSIONAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER PREPARE FOR A WEDDING AT HAMPTON COURT HOUSE?

Couples often wonder how much equipment matters on a wedding day.

While experience is always the most important factor, professional equipment ensures everything is captured reliably in every lighting condition.

Hampton Court House offers a wide range of environments, from bright interiors to evening celebrations, so preparation is key.

For weddings here, my kit typically includes:

Professional Camera Bodies for Wedding Photography at Hampton Court House

Favourite Lenses for Natural Wedding Photography

Professional Backup Equipment for Wedding Days

  • Flash equipment for evening receptions
  • Backup cards and batteries
  • Dual camera harness system
  • Image backup systems
  • Weather protection

Everything is chosen with one purpose: to ensure nothing is missed.

WHAT IS MY NATURAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE AT HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDINGS?

My style is best described as natural, vibrant, relaxed and joyful.

I don’t believe in overly staged wedding photography. Instead, I focus on real moments, real emotion and genuine connection.

At Hampton Court House, that means capturing:

  • Quiet moments before the ceremony
  • Emotional vows and reactions
  • Natural laughter during the drinks reception
  • Elegant but relaxed portraits
  • The atmosphere of the venue
  • The energy of the dance floor
  • Moments couples don’t always see

Some of my favourite images from Laura and Raf’s wedding were completely unplanned. They happened during quiet conversations, shared laughter and relaxed moments together. Those are often the photographs couples treasure most.

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU ALLOW FOR HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOS?

One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding photography is that it requires long, staged sessions. In reality, the most natural images happen in short, relaxed moments throughout the day.

For Laura and Raf, we stepped away briefly during the drinks reception to explore both the venue and Bushy Park. In a short space of time, we created a varied and natural set of portraits without interrupting their celebration.

This approach allowed them to spend most of the day with their guests while still receiving a complete and meaningful gallery. Most Hampton Court House weddings only need short, relaxed portrait sessions to create beautiful results.

LOOKING FOR UNIQUE WEDDING CAKE IDEAS FOR YOUR HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING?

Laura and Raf chose something a little different with a beautiful cheese wedding cake. Stacked with artisan cheeses and decorated with fresh figs, it was both visually striking and completely delicious. It suited the relaxed elegance of the day perfectly.

For couples planning a Hampton Court House wedding, it’s a wonderful alternative to a traditional cake.

REAL WEDDING INSPIRATION: LAURA & RAF’S HAMPTON COURT HOUSE WEDDING

From beginning to end, Laura and Raf’s wedding was filled with warmth, laughter and emotion.

One of the most memorable moments came during the speeches. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as they shared stories, laughter and heartfelt words.

Later in the evening, celebrations moved into the conservatory for their first dance. Soon after, the dance floor filled and the atmosphere carried late into the night.

It was joyful, relaxed and full of energy,  exactly how a wedding should feel.
