One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Peckforton Castle is how naturally the venue lends itself to relaxed and candid wedding photography.
From the dramatic interiors to the beautiful grounds outside, there are endless opportunities to capture genuine moments throughout the day. Everything feels elegant without ever feeling overly formal or staged.
Throughout Nikki and Phil’s wedding, I focused on letting moments unfold naturally while offering gentle guidance whenever needed. From emotional reactions during the ceremony to the incredible party atmosphere later in the evening, every part of the day was photographed in a calm and unobtrusive way.
Using professional Canon R5 and Canon 5D Mark IV camera bodies also allows me to work discreetly in changing light conditions. Combined with Canon L-series lenses, they help me capture all the meaningful in-between moments naturally as they happen.
Most importantly, I always want couples to feel fully present on their wedding day. That’s often when the most genuine laughter, emotion and connection naturally unfold.
NIKKI & PHIL’S ROMANTIC LOVE STORY
Nikki and Phil’s story began just under a year before their wedding day after the two connected online.
What started with one swipe quickly turned into an effortless connection and flowing conversation that nearly caused Nikki to miss her yoga class!
Phil later proposed during a romantic trip to San Francisco after an incredible dinner overlooking the Bay Bridge. Following a stroll along the waterfront, he surprised Nikki with a stunning solitaire diamond ring.
Their wedding day beautifully reflected that same sense of romance, fun and adventure throughout.
ELEGANT BRIDAL PREPARATIONS AT PECKFORTON CASTLE
The morning preparations were filled with excitement, laughter and so many lovely emotional moments.
Champagne flowed as everyone got ready inside the beautiful surroundings of Peckforton Castle while guests slowly arrived for the celebrations ahead.
Nikki looked absolutely stunning in her Julie Vino wedding dress from Brides of Knutsford. The elegant gown perfectly balanced timeless bridal style with glamorous party energy, especially when paired with her beautiful cape.
One of the things Nikki loved most about her dress was how effortlessly it worked throughout the entire day, from the emotional ceremony through to the wild evening celebrations.
AN EMOTIONAL PECKFORTON CASTLE WEDDING CEREMONY
The ceremony itself was filled with love, emotion and incredible live music.
As Nikki walked down the aisle surrounded by breathtaking floral arrangements, Phil’s face completely lit up with excitement and emotion.
Meanwhile, the AMC Gospel Choir created the most unforgettable atmosphere throughout the ceremony. Their beautiful harmonies added so much warmth and meaning to the day, especially during their emotional dedication of Amazing Grace to Nikki’s daughter.
There genuinely wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Afterwards, bubbles and confetti filled the air as the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle together surrounded by huge smiles and applause from family and friends.

Every detail throughout Nikki and Phil’s wedding felt thoughtful, elegant and wonderfully personal.
Inspired by the stunning floral designs created by Ian Lloyd Events, the couple chose a beautiful white colour palette which perfectly complemented the historic backdrop of Peckforton Castle.

Music played a huge role throughout Nikki and Phil’s wedding celebrations.
The couple wanted the day to feel lively, emotional and unforgettable from beginning to end and they absolutely achieved that.

One of the biggest surprises of the evening came when the singing waiters suddenly burst into performance, causing guests to leap onto chairs waving napkins and singing at the top of their lungs.
The atmosphere was completely electric.
A WILD DANCE FLOOR & EVENING CELEBRATION
As the evening celebrations began, the atmosphere somehow became even more incredible.
The dance floor remained packed all night long as guests danced, laughed and celebrated together beneath the grand surroundings of Peckforton Castle.
Then came one of the most unforgettable moments of the entire day.
Nikki made her entrance onto the dance floor wearing illuminated LED fairy wings inspired by a performance she had seen in Barbados earlier that year. The surprise completely wowed guests and instantly took the party atmosphere to another level.

It was joyful, chaotic, stylish and honestly one of the most fun wedding evenings imaginable.

When asked about their favourite part of the day, Nikki and Phil found it almost impossible to choose just one moment.
